Post graduate programs for MD/PhDs
Once you graduate with your dual MD/PhD you deserve congratulations, but you’re not done with your training. Up to 90% of MSTP graduates will enroll in a residency program. Taking one of these courses might mean that you have to move across the country, because a ‘residency program’ means just that, it’s not online education but actually working within a hospital. Increasingly, physician-scientist are choosing residency paths specifically designed for academic physicians. We’ve highlighted two typical programs and a link for additional information about MD/Ph.D. residency and junior faculty training.
- Northwestern Physician Scientist Training Program Successful candidates will have an MD or MD-PhD, demonstrated experience, and accomplishment in research, and a commitment to a career in academic medicine. In addition, PSTP trainees accepted into the Internal Medicine or Pediatrics PSTP will be guaranteed a position in the subspecialty fellowship of their choice, and substantial supplemental financial support during both clinical and research training.
